Kiella
The 53 ft, 60-tonne fishing vessel Kiella was purpose built as a scallop boat in 1981 during the 'scallop rush'. Mures bought her and remodified her with drop line gear in 1993 to catch blue eye for the Fish Centre. She has been a magnificent boat and has fished abroad as far as the Gascoyne Sea Mount some 600km east of Eden with huge success, catching much and riding out terrific storms. More recently her fishing gear has been upgraded, so that at present she is long lining for ling and blue eye.
